What Does a Custom Made Curtains Service Include?
A complete custom made curtains service covers an in-home fabric consultation, precise measuring, heading and fullness specification, fabrication in our workshop, hardware fitting and a professional hang. Curtain Arts includes all of it, with installation built into the price.

In-home fabric consultation.
We bring the fabric range to your home, because fabric behaves completely differently under your light than it does under a showroom’s. You see how a colour reads at midday and at sunset, against your walls and your flooring, before you commit.

Precision measuring.
Every window is measured for width, drop, recess depth and stacking space, and we check the ceiling and wall construction at the same time so the hardware is specified alongside the fabric rather than after it.

Heading and fullness specification.
Wave, pinch pleat, triple pleat, eyelet or tab-top. The heading determines how the curtain folds, how much width it needs and how it stacks, so we match it to the fabric weight and the look you want rather than defaulting to one style.

Fabrication in our workshop.
Panels are cut, sewn, lined, weighted and hemmed by our own stitching team. Working in-house is what makes a 3 to 4 day lead time possible and what lets us correct anything without sending work back to a third party.

Hardware and installation.
Track or pole is fitted to the correct substrate, levelled and rated for the weight of your finished curtains. Installation is included in the price rather than added at the end.

Hanging and dressing.
Panels are hung, the hem is set against the floor and every fold is dressed by hand so the curtains hold their shape from the first day.

Living and dining rooms.
Wide openings and full-height glazing, usually layered so the room works in the day and at night. Sheers for daytime privacy and glare control, lined or blackout drapes over them, both cut to the same drop so the layers sit flush

Bedrooms.
Bedrooms are a performance brief before they are a decorating one. Proper blackout needs generous width, a lining specified for the job and a track that lets the panel overlap at the centre and return to the wall, which is where most ready-made blackout curtains fail.

Feature and difficult windows.
Double-height glazing, curved and bay windows, arched openings and corner glazing. These cannot be bought off a shelf at any size. Custom fabrication and bent or mitred track are specified together at the measuring stage

How much do custom made curtains cost?
Custom made curtains start from AED 250, with installation included. That is a starting price. The final cost depends on fabric, window size, heading style and whether you are adding lining, blackout or a layered sheer, and we confirm it in writing after measuring.
How long do made to measure curtains take?
Three to four days from confirmation of your fabric and measurements to installation. Bespoke hardware such as bent track for a curved window can add to that, and we tell you the timeline before you order.
Can I buy made to measure curtains without a home visit?
We do not recommend it. Ordering custom made curtains online means you supply the measurements and you carry the risk if they are wrong. Our consultation is free, it takes under an hour, and it means the fit is our responsibility rather than yours.
What is the difference between custom curtains and ready-made?
Ready-made curtains come in fixed drops and widths and are made to fit an average window rather than yours. Custom curtains are cut to your exact drop, given the width your heading style needs to fold properly, and finished with the lining the room actually requires. The difference shows most at the hem and at the top.
Which heading style should I choose?
Wave gives a soft continuous fold and suits modern ceiling tracks. Pinch and triple pleat are more structured and traditional, and they hold their shape well in heavier fabric. Eyelet is simple and casual and works best on a pole. We take you through all of them during the consultation with the fabric in your hand.
Do you make sheers, blackout and layered curtains?
Yes. Sheers, blackout, lined, interlined and full double-layer treatments are all made to order in our workshop, cut to the same drop so the layers hang flush.
